Your registration will be renewed directly by the government of Alberta and will be available for download or printing on your MyAlberta Digital ID account upon completion.
There are two ways to renew your driver’s licence or identification:
1. Renew directly at New Urban Registry by visiting us in person. We are located at 1138 10 Ave SW Calgary Alberta.
If you are outside of Alberta and have lost or had stolen your driver’s licence or identification card, you can apply for a CODE F licence through our office.
A temporary driver’s licence or ID card is issued to an Alberta resident who has renewed or applied for their licence remotely due to their inability to visit an Alberta registry office in person. To finalize the process, the individual must complete re-enrollment, which includes providing valid proof of identity and Alberta residency.
CODE F APPLICATION: If you’re unable to attend a registry office in person, you can renew your driver’s licence or ID card remotely by applying for a CODE F or out of province duplicate licence. For more information on Code F applications please click here.
2. Renew online through MyAlbertaeServices
Your driver’s licence or identification card will be renewed directly through the Alberta government, and a temporary card will be available for download or printing on your MyAlberta Digital ID account upon completion

You can pay City of Calgary parking and speeding tickets at the New Urban Registry. Here is what you need to know about the process.
There are two types of fines.
Current fines are any violation ticket that is not past the summons date/date specified on the ticket. To pay these fines at the New Urban Registry, we will need the ticket and your driver’s licence.
Overdue fines are any tickets that have not been dealt with by the due date on the summons listed on the ticket. Any overdue fine is transferred into the Motor Vehicles database and must be settled before any motor vehicle services can be completed. A late fee is usually added as a penalty to outstanding fines. Registry Agents are restricted from completed motor vehicles services until the government receives payment for the fines. The payment can be made at a Registry Agent for an extra fee, online if you still have the details of the ticket, or to the Traffic Court in person.
